Play and discovery spaces in motion – News from Kopstal & Bridel

The play and activity areas in the municipality of Kopstal are getting a fresh new look. Whether in the schoolyard, at the pre-school playground, or at the Maison Relais – everywhere something is happening to give children more room to play, explore, and have fun.

Fresh breeze in the schoolyard

During the renovation works at the Maison Relais and the primary school in Bridel, the existing playground had to be partially closed. The central courtyard is receiving a new surface in two stages, to be completed by the end of this year. To keep the children active, two football goals and two basketball hoops will be installed. In addition, ground games are planned to make the schoolyard more colorful and livelier.

New momentum at the pre-school playground

Changes are also planned in front of the pre-school: the spider-web swing will be replaced by a new attraction. Since the ground is a poured surface, the replacement requires an identical certified play structure – making the process more expensive, more complex, and more time-consuming.

Nature at the heart of the Maison Relais

Things get especially exciting around the Maison Relais, where a new nature-oriented playground is being created. Its centerpiece will be a willow tunnel, inviting children to play, hide, and dream. Three new wooden play structures will promote movement and motor skills, while the insect hotel will spark curiosity.

In the herb garden, children can smell, taste, and observe cooking – maybe even prepare their own soup. A sandbox and a barefoot path will stimulate imagination and senses, strengthening both body and mind. At a later stage, the chickens may also return, with the children actively involved in designing their space. This way, they can experience firsthand where the eggs are coming from, that are later used in the kitchen.

More nature in Rue Camille Claudel

Following the same concept as at the Maison Relais, a nature-based playground is also planned in Rue Camille Claudel. So far, only the topographic survey has been completed – anticipation can grow.

Play fun in Kopstal

The playground in Kopstal is also being expanded: the new fence has already been installed. Soon, two more wooden play structures and a sandbox will be added.

The various works are scheduled in the near future, but their implementation also depends on suppliers and external companies.
