Stay under 3 months
Within 3 working days after entering the country, third-country citizens must submit a "Declaration of arrival of a third-country citizen for a stay of up to three months" to their local authority.
Stay over 3 months
Third-country citizens must, within 3 working days after entering the country, go to their local authority to complete a "Declaration of arrival (demande titre de séjour)".
Required documents
- the original of your valid passport (including visa, if required for entry into the country)
- a letter from the Immigration Department authorising you to enter Luxembourg (for countries requiring a visa)
For family members:
- an extract from the marriage certificate,
- in the case of a descendant, a certified copy of the birth certificate.
Required document format:
Original or certified copy less than 6 months old. Photographs of documents are not accepted.
The application will be prepared by the Population Office and must be submitted by the applicant to the Immigration Department.
