Maison Relais

Since 2005, the municipality of Kopstal has been offering a childcare service for children of the Municipality who are of early education age. The service is available from the first day of school.

The main aim is to encourage the development of each child towards an individual personality, responsible for themselves and their surroundings. 

The child is marked by his or her environment, which influences them greatly. They are in a process of development and need the help and support of all the adults around them. 

Another priority is education for independence and responsibility.

The aim is to create conditions for the development of the child that respect the child's own personality and individuality, and to promote the child's development both educationally and socially, in an environment that is as close as possible to the family environment. 

It is important that parents and educational staff have a good relationship and are in regular contact and exchange. 

Luxembourgish is the language spoken in the Maison Relais. It is the vehicular and integrative language for the child.

A team of two cooks and an assistant cook prepare the meals on the spot. The most important thing is freshness, diversity and an increasing use of local or organic products.

The Maison Relais restaurant operates from Monday to Friday inclusive from 12:00 to 13:50. Meals are served buffet style. The children themselves choose when and with whom they have lunch, and how long they want to stay in the restaurant. 

The menu is displayed at the Maison Relais and published on the Maison Relais website (www.maisonrelais-bridel.lu).

• A weekly programme of activities is drawn up by the various teaching teams who organise a variety of activities throughout the year. 
• Our activities support children's development in the following areas: 
• Creativity, aesthetics and arts (crafts, theatre, music, dance, rhythm) 
• Language, communication and media (learning to communicate through play, books, stories and theatre, valuing mother tongues, creating a newspaper by the children, posting daily activities visibly for everyone) 
• Movement, body awareness and health (activities to support motor skills, bodily expression and food hygiene, team building and conviviality, sport in all forms of games) 
• Values, participation and democracy (creating opportunities for children to make decisions and thus supporting participation, initiative and responsibility) 
• Emotions and social relationships (building trust between children and staff, learning to live together, building team spirit and friendliness, respecting other opinions, learning to manage emotions) 
• Natural and technical sciences (activities in nature to learn to respect and value it, setting up a garden, experimenting and building with all kinds of non-hazardous objects and materials.

Homework support and supervised studies at the Maison Relais consist of offering children a favourable environment in which to do their homework autonomously, in calm conditions and with appropriate supervision and support. 

The quality of this supervision is guaranteed by a regular exchange and close collaboration with the teachers.

In order to benefit from the services offered, each child must be registered at the Maison Relais by means of a registration form and a signed internal regulation available at the Maison Relais, on the Maison Relais website or at the Population office in Kopstal. 

The Maison Relais website has become a central information tool for everyone. It contains: registration forms for the holidays, the house rules, information on the functioning of the Maison Relais, the programme of the different cycles and the menus offered.

The financial participation is governed by the service voucher system - Cheque service (under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth). Parents are invited to register for the service voucher system with the Municipality of Kopstal.

The Maison Relais is open from 07:00 to 19:00 on the school holiday (Friday the 6^th December 2023 - St. Nicholas).
