The commune
Kopstal & Bridel in the centre of Luxembourg
The commune of Kopstal, located in the centre of the country less than 10km from the capital, is composed of the villages of Kopstal and Bridel. On January 1, 2024, the commune was home to almost 4.500 inhabitants of 96 different nationalities, spread over a total area of 7.98 km2.
With the river Mamer flowing through the center of Kopstal and the forests surrounding the two villages, the residents of the commune of Kopstal enjoy a natural, peaceful landscape, allowing them to enjoy a quiet daily life while remaining close to all amenities. The local shops and services (restaurants, cafés, patisseries, pharmacies, hotels, petrol stations, etc.) cater to the daily needs of residents. Numerous bus routes provide easy access to the center of Luxembourg City, as well as to neighboring towns.
The redevelopment and upgrading of the two village centers is the subject of citizen participations, collecting the wishes and needs of local residents in order to integrate them into the projects. Ensuring the best possible education and after-school care is also one of the commune’s key objectives. Expansion projects are currently underway for both the Maison Relais and the school campus. Concerning leisure possibilities, a wide range of activities, events, associations, group classes, sports facilities, walking trails and playgrounds ensure that residents can enjoy their free time in their daily lives. Whatever their interests, inhabitants of the commune will find plenty of activities to keep them entertained and socially connected.
People are at the heart of the commune's values, and its associative, cultural and sporting life, encouraged by its residents, guarantees a high quality of life.
