Support classes

Support classes are intended for pupils who have recently arrived in Luxembourg and who have little or no command of the official school languages. Their aim is to integrate these children as quickly as possible into a regular class, by enabling them to acquire sufficient knowledge of the languages of the school to be able to follow the courses provided for in the curriculum of their home class.

A newly arrived pupil is one who meets one or more of the following criteria:

• He has just arrived in Luxembourg;
• He spent part of his schooling in another country;
• He has spent part of his schooling in another school system in Luxembourg.

They are entitled to an intensive language course provided during a certain number of weekly lessons outside the home class.
