Luxembourgish passport
Terms and conditions
The application for a biometric passport must be submitted to the Population Office of the local authority in the place of residence.
The following documents must be provided:
- The expired passport or, if applicable, the identity card and a declaration of loss or theft of the passport issued by the Police Grand-Ducale
- Proof of payment of the tax
A photograph is not required.
To ensure that your application is processed correctly, please arrive at the Population office before 3:30pm, with your proof of payment printed on paper.
Fees and delivery
Normal procedure
Delivery time: approximately 10 days, the exact date will be given at the time of application.
Delivery address: Passports can be collected in person at the Biergerzenter in Bridel or at the Passport Office, depending on the choice made when the passport was ordered.

Fees
- 50€ for a passport valid for 10 years (holder aged 18 and over)
- 50€ for a passport valid for 5 years (holder aged between 4 and 17)
- 30€ for a passport valid for 2 years (holder aged between 0 and 3)
Accelerated procedure
Delivery time: 3 working days
- 150€ for a passport valid for 10 years (holder aged 18 and over)
- 150€ for a passport valid for 5 years (holder aged between 4 and 17)
- 90€ for a passport valid for 2 years (holder aged between 0 and 3)

Payment in advance for both procedures
This tax must be paid by the citizen before going to the municipal administration to the following CCPL account (indicating "Demande passeport biométrique + first and last name"):
