Living Together Pact
Principle & objectives
On 3 June 2021, the municipality of Kopstal signed the pact for living together in the presence of Mrs Corinne Cahen, Minister for the Family, Integration and the Greater Region, and Mr Emile Eicher, president of SYVICOL. This pact allows for a reinforced collaboration between the municipality, the Ministry of Family, and the associations ASTI and CEFIS.
The municipality is the first point of reference for anyone arriving in the country or moving to another locality. As a result, it plays a key role in ensuring harmonious living together for all.
The Community Integration Plan (PCI) is an instrument that enables municipalities to work in a structured and sustainable way towards Living Together at the local level. The approach to establishing and implementing the PCI has been revisited by the Ministry to enable municipalities to initiate a dynamic process in which citizen participation is a key element. This process starts with the signing of the "Pakt vum Zesummeliewen" which is designed in five steps:
- Political commitment by signing the "Pakt vum Zesummeliewen"
- The inventory identifying the needs of the municipality
- Citizen workshops to develop actions to promote integration
- Implementation of integration actions
- Evaluation of the work done and planning of the next steps
The signing of the Pact allows for a close collaboration, for a multi-annual and dynamic process that focuses on participation, inclusion and communication.
